Alabama Protects Consumer Privacy by Enacting SB234

Mulberry Road: 2017 Guild Collaboration Beer Released

With cooperation from the Alabama Bicentennial Commission, the Alabama Brewers Guild is celebrating the state's 200th birthday with a Capital Series of annual collaboration beers. Alabama lawmakers have passed several updates to the state's alcoholic beverage laws in recent years. Craft beer fans rightly praise the legislature for bringing Alabama law up-to-date with an evolving industry. However, the real work of regulating Alabama's alcoholic beverage industry falls to the Alabama Alcoholic Beverage Control Board. City of Montgomery removes growler ban

Last week, the city council of Montgomery approved an Ordinance 26-2016 allowing growlers of draft beer to go in city limits. Although the state law went into effect on June 1, the state's capital needed to update their ordinances to bring them up to par with new state laws. Governor Bentley signs HB176 into law

On March 24, at 11:00 AM, Governor Bentley signed HB176 into law. This legislation allows breweries and brewpubs in the state to sell up to 288 ounces per person per day for off-premise consumption. It also removes unusual location restrictions for brewpub licensees in Alabama and allows for charitable contributions to nonprofit events. On March 15, the Alabama legislature gave final passage to HB176, sending it to Governor Bentley for his signature.
