House Bill 289, sponsored by Representatives Mike Ball (R-Huntsville) and Joe Hubbard (D-Montgomery) was introduced on Thursday, February 9. Senator Cam Ward (R-Pelham) has agreed to carry the bill in the Senate. The bill is a bit of “housekeeping” for the different types of alcohol manufacturer licensees. For beer fans, the biggest change is that it will allow you to purchase beer from the brewery and then take it home. Wineries have enjoyed this privilege for years.

The Alabama Brewers Guild strongly supports this legislation and is advocating for its passage.
